Nugan Estate Single Vineyard

The Nugan family has been involved in agriculture for more than 65 years and the Nugan Estate Single Vineyard Collection is their label dedicated to showcasing the best varietals from Australia’s finest wine growing regions. Being an estate grown best of the regions collection, the family sources fruit for this collection from their vineyards in the McLaren Vale, King Valley, Riverina and Coonawarra - crafting each wine to reflect its unique varietal and regional characteristics.

King Valley, Frasca’s Lane Vineyard, Pinot Grigio

This Pinot Grigio is sourced from our Frasca’s Lane Vineyard in Victoria’s cool climate King Valley. Fresh, lifted aromas of pear and apple with floral accents of jasmine and gardenia. Generous palate of vibrant lemon, citrus and pear enhanced by mixed spice and clean persistent acids.

King Valley, Frasca’s Lane Vineyard, Sauvignon Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from our Frasca’s Lane Vineyard in Victoria’s cool climate King Valley. Fresh, lifted aromas of lemon and lime with gooseberry and tropical nuances. A medium bodied style displaying crisp lime, citrus and tropical fruit flavours with citrusy fruit acids. Added complexity and mouth-feel from a small portion of oak treatment leading to a fresh and zesty finish.

King Valley, Frasca’s Lane Vineyard, Chardonnay

This Chardonnay is sourced from our Frasca’s Lane Vineyard in Victoria’s cool climate King Valley. Intense, lifted aromas of ripe peach, nectarine and cantaloupe well-integrated with toasty French oak. A full-bodied style displaying elegant peach, nut and biscuity notes perfectly balanced with crisp acidity.

Coonawarra, Alcira Vineyard, Chardonnay

This Chardonnay is sourced from the renowned Coonawarra region in South Australia. Pale straw with a youthful green hue. Intense, lifted aromas of fig, canned peach and almond entwined with toasty oak. A full-bodied style displaying concentrated ripe peach and stone fruit flavours layered elegantly with biscuit and butterscotch notes.

"Alfredo", King Valley, Frasca's Lane Vineyard, Sangiovese Merlot

The Nugan family named this wine after their grandfather - Alfredo Nugan. Both the Sangiovese and Merlot are sourced from our Frasca’s Lane Vineyard in Victoria’s cool climate King Valley. Ripe aromas of cherry and spicy plum melded with mocha, dark chocolate and earth. On the palate, this rich and savoury Tuscan-inspired wine shows excellent fruit concentration of spicy plum and raspberries over savoury earthy notes with excellent structure and lovely integrated tannins. 2010 James Halliday Wine Companion, 94 Points “A major surprisem the two varieties working symbioticall and synergistically”.

Coonawarra, Alcira Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the classic Coonawarra region of South Australia. Fresh aromas of cassis, mint and eucalypt entwined with earth and spice. On the palate, generous ripe flavours of blackcurrant and cherry melded with hints of mint, cassis and fennel. A beautifully balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with lovely fruit concentration, depth, integrated oak and velvety tannins. Previous vintage received; 2008 International & SVR Competition (London), Gold. 2008 Perth Wine Show, Gold. 2006 Brisbane Wine Show, Gold.

McLaren Vale, McLaren Parish Vineyard, Shiraz

This Shiraz is sourced from our McLaren Parish Vineyard in the classic Shiraz region of McLaren Vale, South Australia. Aromas of sweet berry and violet melded with earth and aniseed. A rich and full bodied wine displaying elegant tannins and powerful concentration of juicy dark plum, mixed spice and black pepper.

Manuka Grove Vineyard, Durif

Durif is a rich and robust red grape variety that revels in the warm and dry conditions of the family’s Manuka Grove Vineyard in the Riverina. Aromas of ripe blackberry, plum and cherry with hints of aniseed and all-spice. A full-bodied wine displaying soft chewy tannins and a youthful fine acid balance with a generous palate of dark cherry and plum pudding with dusty chocolate, earth and spice.

"KLN", Riverina, Botrytis Semillon

The Semillon for this special dessert wine is sourced from our Cookoothama Vineyard on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River in the Riverina. Brilliant straw with a golden hue. Enticing aromas of dried apricot and fig. Luscious concentrated palate of marmalade, apricot nectar and pineapple with well-balanced acid giving it length and structure.
