KING VALLEY, VICTORIA
King Valley is one of Australia’s most exciting, emerging wine regions. It is located in north east Victoria – approximately three hours north of Melbourne and seven hours south of Sydney.
Home to the most picturesque and unspoilt valley in Australia, King Valley benefits from a cool climate with extremely varied terrain. In the north it is flat, whereas the south is mountainous with some of the highest vineyards in Australia. The valley is fertile throughout and produces high yields of premium quality grape across the full spectrum of grape varieties.
Boasting numerous boutique wineries, many with Italian heritage, King Valley has emerged as a unique and experimental premium region producing exceptional quality wines from both traditional and experimental Italian varieties.
Nugan Estate owns Frasca’s Lane Vineyard, near Whitland, in south King Valley. Nugan Estate shares the belief that the King Valley produces some of Australia’s best white wines particularly, Riesling and Chardonnay, and Italian varietals such as Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese.
