Young Achievers Program
Michelle Nugan is passionate about supporting the regional youth and women of Australia.
For a decade Michelle has fully sponsored two annual programs, WIRED and Young Achievers, to develop the business skills of Riverina’s young talents and business women.
Michelle, herself, is an inspiration. She took over as Managing Director of Nugan Group in 1986 after the unexpected death of her husband, Ken. She inherited a family business which, at best, was faltering. 20 years later Nugan Group is one of Australia’s greatest family success stories with a turn-over in excess of $80 million.
Last year’s program took place at the family’s Griffith restaurant, Michelin, on May 17th - with an impressive line-up of inspirational and practical speakers.

Young Achievers Program – 18 May 2006
The Young Achievers Program provides participants between the ages of 18-25 with the opportunity to further develop their business and presentation skills and to build a network with other young people working to establish careers in the Riverina.
Michelle began the Program to assist capable youths, who have not had the opportunity to access a tertiary education, to build their self-confidence to move forward in their careers. As Michelle explains:
“The future of rural Australia requires young people to be excited about their careers and for them to have access to professional training within the region”.
Last year’s program, in its 10th anniversary, was entitled ‘Fortune Favours the Brave’ and brought together some of the Riverina’s brightest young talents.
