Tiffany NuganNational Sales Manager (Australia), International Marketing Manager,
A successful young lawyer with a formidable legal future before her, Tiffany Nugan was enjoying professional success when the call of the family business forced a reassessment.
Committed to continuing her parents’ legacy but concerned about throwing away her legal career, Tiffany followed her gut instinct when she decided to leave her role as a solicitor and undertake a position with Nugan Estate.
She has never looked back.
As a Graduate Solicitor, Tiffany joined Deacons Lawyers in their Litigation Department. In 2000 when Deacons was retained to act for the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) in the 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race Coronial Inquest, Tiffany was asked to head up the CYCA team under her Partner’s supervision. During this case Tiffany’s ability to excel under challenging and high pressure circumstances came to the fore.
At the conclusion of the Inquest, Tiffany’s legal career was shining with opportunity. However, it was at that time, Tiffany’s mother asked her to join the family business to launch their new wine business in the Australian market. Prior to asking Tiffany to join, Nugan Estate had employed two experienced sales managers, who had been unsuccessful in penetrating the highly saturated domestic market. Given the family’s substantial investment, Tiffany’s mother believed only a family member would be determined to make it a success.
In 2001 Tiffany joined the family business as National Sales Manager and has never given her legal career another thought. In Tiffany’s words;
“I love Nugan Estate. My brother, Matthew, and I built this from scratch – him in the export market, me in the Australian market – so it’s our baby. We’re passionate about our brand and what we represent. So are our staff.”
Tiffany’s achievements in the Australian market have been immense. She was responsible for successfully building Nugan Estate into one of Australia’s rising stars with national distribution in key off and on premise outlets and exponential sales growth each year. As James Halliday states “Nugan Estate arrived on the scene like a whirlwind...” (2007 James Halliday Wine Companion).
Tiffany’s achievements were recognised in 2004 with her selection as a NSW Finalist in the 2004 Telstra Young Business Women’s Awards.
Tiffany now looks beyond Australia’s shores having taken on the additional responsibility of the International Marketing of Nugan Estate’s brands around the globe.
Tiffany’s goal is to be joint CEO of Nugan Group, with her brother Matthew, leaving for their children the same legacy and passion to work that they inherited from their parents.
