I hope the Cookoothama Botrytis Semillon will become the benchmark of its style as our style develops and its recognition grows with each vintage. I encourage everyone to enjoy a glass with their Christmas pudding this year!"
That was not the only bootie for Nugan Estate with the family collecting at the 2015 Riverina Wine Show two other acknowledgements of their winemaking prowess with their 2012 Nugan Estate Manuka Grove Durif RRP $23.95 collecting TOP GOLD and their 2014 Nugan Estate Third Generation Shiraz collecting the prestigious Sean Hampel Award for Best Shiraz made from Riverina fruit.
Matriarch, Michelle Nugan, was pleased to see the Durif collect Top Gold as it is made in memory of her late husband Ken. This rich and robust Durif has aromas of ripe blackberry, plum and chocolate with hints of toasty oak. On the palate, this full bodied wine displays soft chewy tannins and a youthful fine acid balance with generous flavours of black cherry and plum pudding with dusty chocolate, earth and spice.
