Nugan Estate grows by value in
Australia's Top 20 Exporters

Nugan Estate is celebrating international success this month. The 2015 Australian & New Zealand Wine Industry Directory has announced Nugan Estate has successfully grown its ranking by value to rank as Australia's 12th Largest Exporter by volume and Australia's 13th Largest Exporter by value.

Nugan Estate has successfully grown since launch in 2001 to become one of Australia's Top 20 Exporters and Top 20 Wine Brands. Nugan Estate's rise since launching 14 years ago has been immense by anyone's standards. This success continues with the recent release of the 2015 Australian & New Zealand Wine Industry directory ranking Nugan Estate:

12th Largest Exporter of Branded Wine by Volume (maintained from previous year)
13th Largest Exporter of Branded Wine by Value  (grown from 14th previous year)
20th Largest Australian Winery by Sales of Branded Wine (maintained from previous year)

What's particularly significant is the fact that Nugan Estate has been able to grow its ranking by value. This reflects the Nugan family's long term strategy to focus and grow its premium wine segment, being dedicated to quality and sourcing fruit from single vineyards throughout Australia's finest wine growing regions in McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, King Valley and Riverina.

Nugan Estate focus on quality was confirmed by Australia's most respected wine writers, James Halliday, who rated Nugan Estate winery 5 red stars in his 2015 Australian Wine Companion with all reviewed wines receiving over 92 Points. 5 red starts in Halliday's rating system means:
"Outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity. Will have at least two wines rated at 94 points or above, and had five-star rating for the previous two years. 235 wineries, 8.4%".

Matthew Nugan, General Manager of Nugan Estate and Head of International Sales is ecstatic, saying:

"I feel very proud of our team. We work hard with our customers around the world to build long term partnerships and focus on quality. It demonstrates Daren Owers and his wine-making team's passion to continue to grow the premium wine segment. Our family is dedicated to quality and telling the Australian regional story and these accolades demonstrate that consumers around the world are responding. This is a great result for us and the Australian wine industry".

Nugan Estate is a premium producer of fine wine and extra virgin olive oil based in Griffith, NSW. It is part of the Nugan Group which was founded in 1940 as a fruit and vegetable packer and expanded in the 1970's into juice production - later becoming one of the largest exporters of niche juice products to Asia. In 1993 Nugan Group further diversified its operations planting vineyards and selling fruit under contract. From there, winemaking was a natural progression.

Nugan Estate currently owns vineyards and sources fruit from King Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Riverina. Family operated by Michelle, Matthew and Tiffany Nugan, the Nugan Group is now complemented by three wine labels, Nugan Estate, Cookoothama and Talinga Park and premium Nugan Estate Olive Oil.
